Founded in 2004 by business partners Richard Burkitt and James Caddy,
Yammayap was initially based at the picturesque Parkstone Bay Marina
and created beautiful marketing websites.

PS – we often get asked ‘what does Yammayap mean?’
Well, blame our Head of Creative for that one – apparently it’s derived from the terms ‘yammer’ and ‘yap’ and reflects communicating with people. We liked it – so it stuck!

Richard started Yammayap in 2004 and still leads the business today. Responsible for all things commercial, he also oversees development and maintenance projects and gives input into the creative side of the business too.
With vast experience from both a technical and commercial perspective, Richard has delivered a large variety of successful projects at Yammayap. A team focussed leader, Richard enjoys seeing his employees develop and rewarding them with a fantastic work-life balance.

Ed is a degree educated engineer (BEng Hons Civil Engineering, Bristol 1986) who has worked in the computer software and more recently, cloud-application industries for over 30 years. A skilled communicator, he facilitates the exchange of ideas between executive and technical teams.
With a well-rounded understanding of the business context, Ed is at home delivering innovative technical solutions and enjoys being the interface between clients and Yammayap. Having delivered complex solutions throughout his career, he is perfectly positioned to consult with clients and provide them with value.

George has been with Yammayap since 2010 and is one of the key senior developers in the team. Responsible for developing web applications in Laravel, he also configures and maintains the servers those applications run on. Creating the user interfaces that clients see and use is just another example of his extensive skill set.
George enjoys creating applications that make other’s lives easier and finds it rewarding that the tools he builds have a positive impact. Always keen to learn, he embraces new technologies which allows him to not only develop himself but to provide a better end-product for every customer he works with.

Having been with Yammayap since 2011, Philip is an experienced senior developer who adds significant value to every project he works on. Working with clients and the internal team, he delivers bespoke web applications which greatly improve the efficiency of a business. By working closely with clients, he creates intuitive user interfaces which make transitioning from legacy workflows all the easier.
Philip combines his interpersonal skills with his technical expertise to choose the right technologies to solve problems his clients face. He’s part of the entire lifecycle of a Yammayap application, from the initial consultation and planning through to support and maintenance.

Jim is Yammayap’s front end developer who specialises in creating user-friendly interfaces for web applications and websites. Having been with the company since 2018, he looks after the management and maintenance of all of Yammayap’s Wordpress websites.
Jim enjoys working for Yammayap because he gets freedom in his work and has a say in what he’s building. A valued member of the team, he’s the resident expert when it comes to user interface and user experience.

As lead designer, James is responsible for ensuring that user experience is at the forefront of the applications that Yammayap creates. Providing creative direction to the rest of the team using mockups and visuals, James plays a significant role in the development of bespoke software.
Similarly to others in the team, James loves solving problems and seeing the effect that his work has on Yammayap’s clients and users. He prides himself in making things easy to use and user friendly.

Our most recent addition to the team, Chris comes from a background in technology sales and marketing having worked in the industry for over 15 years. With both a technical and commercial understanding, he’s a key point of contact for our customers.
Chris enjoys problem-solving as much as he does sales and marketing, and is often involved in projects from start to finish. Being our in-house wordsmith as well, he’s never too far from crafting some compelling copy for our latest project.
